Optical System
Monochromator: The monochromator consists of a water-cooled channel-cut crystal [Si(311)];cooled aperture to resize the beam (~ 1 x 1 mm2) immediately upstream of the monochromator;
A 10umx10um aperture is realized with two sets of two-parallel tungsten rods positioned orthogonally.

Experimental Apparatus
Radiation hutch; Canberra ADC and HVPS; Ion chamber; XYZ high-resolution motorized sample position stage; Some standard NIM electronics; Newport ESP 300 controller/driver; drivers and limits for monochromator and slits.

Computer System Hardware & Software
Linux operating system; SPEC user interface; PC interfaced serial, GPIB and ethernet systems; VME control system.
