Machine Status

The x-ray ring switched over to 30 bunch mode this past Saturday morning,
10/10/09. No one reported any problems with the new bunch mode.

The cooling water test last Thursday and Friday went smoothly (20 minutes
to switch to the on-site system and about 40 minutes to switch back).
A longer test will be planned before the shutdown.

Proposed Schedule for January - April 2010

The proposed schedule for Jan - April 2010 was shown and is included in the
attached file. Please send Emil (zitvogel@bnl.gov) your comments as soon as
possible.

Major jobs that are planned for the December Shutdown are:

1) The X7 mask will be worked on and may need to be replaced. If replacement
is necessary, it will involve a complicated bakeout, since it includes the
injection area.
2) Water Tower maintenance- The dunnage (support for the water tower), as well
as the water tower itself may need to be replaced. This effort depends
on the on-site water being switched in, and being relied upon until potentially
the end of February.
3) The X17 hutch and transport section will be reworked for X17A and then the
radiation levels will be checked after the shutdown.

NSLS II Construction – Soil Compacting

The large compactor may be in operation in the NW corner of the site
10/19/09 - 10/23/09 and 10/26/09 - 10/30/09.

Elevator Update - Bob Kiss

The work on the lobby elevator will start very soon (maybe Friday) and could take
as many as 4-6 weeks, but may be completed in as little as 3 weeks.
