Schedule

X-ray: There will be an emergency ring access tomorrow morning (2/5)
to repair an X13A slits drive.

VUV: Proposed timing runs during February and March.

Machine Status

Both rings are running well.

The water pumps were mistakenly turned off Monday at about 1400 hrs.
for about 10 minutes. There was no announcement or Channel 2 posting
from the Control Room, but there will be in the future.

Maintenance Period (X-ray: 2/10/09-2/11/09, VUV: 2/9/09-2/10/09)

Plug doors to be opened are: X3-4, X5-6, X7-8 and X27-28.

X-ray Template Times

The UEC has recommended a change to x-ray template times. The current
template days will go away and be replaced by the 2000 - 2400 hrs period
immediately after the Studies periods ending at 2000 hrs. This occurs
about once per month (see 2/17, 3/10, 4/7). Emil will see if this can
begin this month.

X9 Orbit

Leon Flaks requested information about the resetting of PUEs due to the
new X9 reference orbit. Boris will get these to him.

Town Meeting

The next town meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 2/18/09.

Storage Areas - Bob Kiss

Storage areas are being cleaned up & cleared out, basement area of 535 (C-6)
and 1-123J (cubicle). Unclaimed equipment will be thrown out. Please
contact Bob Kiss (x3476 or kiss@bnl.gov) for more information.

Lab Stewardship - Andrew Ackerman

Deadline is March 6 on lab stewardship issues. Need better compliance from
user community. Steve Hulbert asked for a weekly progress update.

VUV Floor Lockout 2/3/09

Darío Arena asked why there wasn't advance notice about the VUV floor lockout
yesterday (2/3). Sergei Seletskiy said it was his Studies and he will provide
advance warning in the future.
