Weekly Users' Meeting Minutes -- March 11, 2009

Schedule

X-ray: No special requests.

VUV: No special requests.

Machine Status

Both rings are running well. X11B had an interlock problem last Thursday
which was repaired Friday morning.

Maintenance Period (X-ray: 3/17/09-3/18/09, VUV: 3/16/09-3/17/09)

Plug doors to be opened are: X3-4, X9-10, X11-12, X13-14 and X27-28 (man access).

Proposed Schedule for May-August 2009

There have been no comments about the proposed May-August 2009 schedule
shown last Wednesday. This schedule will most likely be signed as is.

Labs and Safety - Andrew Ackerman

Andrew Ackerman gave an update on the review of the labs. Only a couple
of labs are left to do.

Many step stools were confiscated in the past week because they were not safe.
Some of these will be repaired and 50 new round step stools will be purchased.

Gas Lines in Electrical Cable Trays not Permitted

According to NEC (National Electrical Code) article 300.8:

Installation of Conductors with Other Systems: Raceways or cable trays containing
electrical conductors shall not contain any pipe, tube, or equal for steam, water,
air, gas, drainage or any service other than electrical.
