Weekly Users' Meeting Minutes -- July 22, 2009

Schedule

X-ray: Template time cancelled for Tuesday 7/28/09, 2000 - 2400 hrs.
Time is returned to normal operations.

VUV: Timing run cancelled for Monday 7/27/09, 1800 - 2400 hrs
Time is returned to normal operations.

Machine Status

There were several problems on Friday and over the weekend on the x-ray ring.
There was a problem on Friday with RF1 resulting in the x-ray ring temporarily
running at 2.584 GeV through Monday morning. There were problems with beam noise
caused by the vertical feedback system resulting in the vertical feedback system
being turned off at times over the weekend. There were also problems with the X9
interlock system and a water leak at a bending magnet.

There were no reported problems from the observation of the EPW running at 47 Hz.

Safety - Beamline Close-out - Andrew Ackerman

It was reported that a beamline wasn’t properly closed out by a user and the next
user came and ran on the previous user's Safety Approval Form. All users should
have their beamline closed out after their experiment and a new user should be enabled
on their own Safety Approval Form.

NSLS II Construction - Soil Compacting

There should be no operations in the Northwest quadrant the next two weeks
(7/27 - 8/7) that will require the use of the large Roller/compactor. Any work
in the Northwest area should be utility installation, with the use of the smaller
compactors.
