Weekly Users' Meeting Minutes -- July 29, 2009

Schedule

X-ray: No special requests.

VUV: No special requests.

Machine Status

Both rings are running well.

Maintenance Period (X-ray: 8/4/09-8/5/09, VUV: 8/3/09-8/4/09)

Plug doors to be opened are: X7-8 (man access).

Safety Glasses

In compliance with lab standards, safety glasses MUST be worn in chemical
laboratories/rooms and beamlines that use liquids.

Safety Envelopes and BLOSA

BLOSA and Safety envelopes (for beamlines) are being updated by Mary Ann Corwin
and Lori Stiegler, respectively. Please assist them as they go around the beamlines
to get information.

Lab Coats

Lab coats can be rented (with laundry agreement) from the NSLS. See Lori Stiegler
for details.

LN2 Auto Fill Station Key

The key to the LN2 fill station is now attached to the system

NSLS II Construction - Soil Compacting

There should be no operations in the Northwest quadrant the next two weeks
(7/27 - 8/7) that will require the use of the large Roller/compactor. Any work
in the Northwest area should be utility installation, with the use of the smaller
compactors.
