Weekly Users' Meeting Minutes -- August 19, 2009

Schedule

X-ray: Template time cancelled for Tuesday 8/25/09, 2000 - 2400 hrs.
Time is returned to normal operations.

VUV: Timing run cancelled for Monday 8/24/09, 1800 - 2400 hrs.
Time is returned to normal operations.

Machine Status

A power outage on Wednesday night, 8/12/09, dumped both rings and caused a
cooling failure for one of the x-ray transport line magnets. As a result,
the magnet overheated and released smoke which eventually set off the fire
alarms. Emergency personnel responded and the building was evacuated.
The x-ray ring was down for a good part of Thursday. There is a plan to replace
the magnet soon.

Building Maintenance

The main lobby elevator will be replaced by the end of August or beginning of
September. As such, access to the mailboxes and vending machine will be
limited or not available at all until the work completes. Users are requested
to follow the postings in the area.
