Weekly Users' Meeting Minutes -- September 23, 2009

Schedule

X-ray: There will be two observations of an X9 orbit bump next week
during Studies, one on Monday 9/28/09, 1200-1400 hrs and one on
Thursday 10/1/09, 1000-1200 hrs. All beamlines are encouraged
to observe.

VUV: No special requests.

Machine Status

Both rings are running well.

The x-ray ring is studying operating at 30 bunches (rather than the
normal 25) to increase beam lifetime.

Maintenance Period (X-ray: 9/29/09-9/30/09, VUV: 9/28/09-9/29/09)

Plug doors to be opened are: X5-6.

NSLS II Construction – Soil Compacting

The large compactor may be in operation in the NW corner
of the site 9/30/09 - 10/2/09 and 10/5/09 - 10/9/09.

Empty Gas Cylinder Disposal

Empty gas cylinders are supposed to be placed at the “Empty” racks
with caps on. There are curently about 5 empty cylinders with no caps
in the “Empty” area. The gas truck will not pick up empty cylinders
without caps.
