Purpose and Scope
Brookhaven National Laboratory's Office of Educational Programs (OEP) and the National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS) have developed a consortium of professors from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) to provide NSLS access to HBCU faculty. The second annual workshop for this consortium will be held at Brookhaven National Laboratory this summer.
Agenda
The workshop will consist of introductory lectures on synchrotron science, techniques, and operations. Hands-on experimental activities will be offered to participants using a variety of beamlines. Additionally, there will be a writing tutorial focused on the development of competitive beamtime proposals for independent research at the NSLS.
Intended Audience
The workshop is open to all tenured or tenure-track faculty at an HBCU.
Cost
Transportation, housing, and meals will be provided by Brookhaven National Laboratory.
