NSLS User Check In Now at Guests, Users, and Visitors Center

Beginning Monday, October 1, Brookhaven’s new Guests, Users, and Visitors (GUV) Center will be open for NSLS user check in. The GUV Center is located on the first floor in Building 400, BNL’s Research Support Building, on Brookhaven Avenue, diagonally across from the Berkner Hall Cafeteria. All physical check-in activities that you would normally complete at the NSLS User Administration office will now be completed there, including submission and update of your visa and passport information and obtaining your permanent identification badge. Further, at Building 400, you can check in for housing needs, or visit the ATM, cashier’s office or Teachers Federal Credit Union as necessary. The office to set up user accounts is also located in Building 400.

The GUV Center will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; however, please try to allow at least a half hour prior to closing to complete all your check-in activities, and longer if you have not completed your online training courses prior to arrival.

The NSLS User Administration office will continue to process appointments “behind the scenes” so that your registration will be ready for final check-in when you arrive. Should you have questions about your appointment status, you may continue to contact us. We will also continue to administer the Proposal, Allocation, Safety, and Scheduling (PASS) System, assist in proposal reviews and allocation, collect and prepare user-related and beamline statistics, organize NSLS workshops, and in general, be available to answer your questions. Our office hours will remain 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

If you have any questions, please contact us at (631) 344-USER (8737) or NSLSUser@bnl.gov.
