A Note From Steve Dierker

New Focus on Communications Across the Directorate

I'm pleased to announce that Mona Rowe, of Brookhaven's Community, Education, Government & Public Affairs (CEGPA), will be joining the Light Sources directorate as our communications manager. Starting years ago with the NSLS and, more recently, extending to the NSLS-II construction project, we've gotten lots of support from CEGPA. Kendra Snyder already splits her time between NSLS and CEGPA's Media and Communications Office. Now Mona will, too, assuming responsibility for internal and external communications across our directorate.

In a related move, I've asked Mona to explore ways to expand the scope of eNews so that it encompasses the full range of news and activities that engage all of us. Next month, then, you will see a revamped electronic publication, keeping some of the same content and adding other items that should be shared. I'll be taking a more active role in communicating with all of you.
