As a part of integrated safety management, additions or modification to facilities and equipment (or portions of facilities) require review by the NSLS ESH Committee, the Beam Line Review Committee, a formal Design Review, or other committees to ensure that hazards are identified and that appropriate controls to minimize the risk are established. Proposals for new programs that are submitted for funding review must also have an ESH review to ensure that the work can be safely accomplished within the controls and boundaries established in the NSLS Facility Authorization Documents and the NSLS Facility Use Agreement.
Depending on the nature of the changes, review by Laboratory level Committees and modifications to the NSLS Facility Authorization Documents and Facility Use Agreements may be required.
