The NSLS will follow the procedures and guidance supplied in the BNL Confined Spaces Subject Area.

 

NSLS confined spaces are noted in the Fire House Response Card System.

 

The NSLS has defined the following Class 2A confined spaces:

 

  1. Two Helium gas tanks at northwest corner of Bldg. 725 (see Attachment 1);
  2. Air ducts in Bldg. 725 (see Attachment 2).
  3. Confined Space Procedures for Accessing 8 ft Deep Floor Pit in NSLS Room 1-169 (LEGS Cryolab).

 

The Confined Space programs established for each of the above are given as Attachments to this PRM.

 

Building 725 contains additional confined spaces managed by BNL's Plant Engineering.  These will not be listed in this PRM.
