Brian Boyle earned a B.S. in Accounting at the C.W. Post School of Professional Accountancy in 1983 and an MBA from the C.W. Post Roth School of Business in 1998. After working for a public accounting firm, he earned his Certified Public Accountant’s license in 1988. He joined Brookhaven as an internal auditor in 1988 and performed operational audits of various departmental functions. In 1991, he moved to Brookhaven’s Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider project where he was the Budget Analyst responsible for budgeting and monitoring costs and commitments for the $600 million construction project. He continued overseeing the RHIC operations program for the Collider –Accelerator Department and was promoted to Business Operations Manager III in early 2006 until his current appointment as the Business Operations Manager II at National Sychrotron Light Source, overseeing the Accounting and Finance Group.

In his current position, Brian oversees and manages the Budget Administration group. This includes oversight of budgetary, financial, procurement, travel, and property management functions. He works on special projects, ad hoc reporting and is the building contract for facilities and keys. The group conducts timely, accurate, and concise financial and business analysis. The group also seeks to continually review and improve processes and provide NSLS management with the information and recommendations necessary to operate effectively.
