Christie Nelson’s research interests lie primarily in the field of correlated electron systems. She uses a variety of x-ray scattering techniques to study phenomena in these materials including charge and orbital ordering, metal-insulator transitions, and magnetic ordering. Christie is also the spokesperson for wiggler beamline X21, which includes an end-station with a high-field (13 T) magnet for x-ray diffraction experiments.
