Applicability: BNL Employees, Guests, Users, or Contractors who require the use of a NSLS Crane or Forklift must receive training before operating the equipment. This includes all forklifts and all cranes on the Cranes List.

Training

• Refer to the Brookhaven Training Management System (BTMS) for the web-based and classroom training requirements for Overhead Crane Operator and Forklift Operator
• Contact the NSLS Designated Examiner for the required practical on cranes and/or forklifts.

The web-based training, classroom training and the practical each have a three-year re-qualification period.
