Access to User Machine Shop: Located in Room 1-124A, the User Shop is available for use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is staffed weekdays during working hours for those who seek assistance in operation of the shop's machines and tools. Contact the User Shop Manager for details. After working hours, access to the machine shop is available to users who have encoded access. Users may have access to the locked-out machinery and equipment during non-working hours provided they have completed an evaluation on that equipment; such users may sign out a key from the Control Room. A collection of power tools can be signed out during normal work hours. Users are responsible for the condition of the item while it is signed out.

Record Keeping: All machine shop training records are maintained in the BTMS (Brookhaven Training Management System). Click HERE for instructions on how to access the information. Machine Shop Managers must forward all completed training forms to the NSLS Training Coordinator for entry into the system and filing. All other hard copy documentation is maintained by the shop manager.
