Required Training

The minimum training requirements for Custodial Staff are listed below. Training requirements include one or more Job Training Assessments (JTAs). JTAs and associated training courses are listed at the BNL Training Website. Click on the link and the JTA(s) listed below for the list of required training courses.

• JTA LS-01P for Plant Engineering / Procurement & Property Management / Custodial staff
• NSLS ESH Briefing

ESH Briefing

The NSLS ESH Briefing can be conducted by any of the following NSLS personnel, in this order of preference:

• ESH Coordinator
• Safety Officer
• Building Manager
• Alt. Building Manager

Refer to procedures for the briefing.

Supervisor's Briefing

After the NSLS ESH Briefing, the custodian's supervisor administers the briefing, "Training for Custodians working at NSLS." These records are maintained by the Custodial Supervisor.

Access to the NSLS

The BNL ID card will be encoded for access to the NSLS upon showing proof of GERT training AND the ESH Briefing to the User Administration Office.
