2003 NSLS Users' Meeting

Frontiers in Powder Diffraction

Location: Bldg. 911A, Snyder Seminar Room

Date: May 19, 2003

Organizer: P. Stephens, State University at Stony Brook, NY

Description: While the title of this workshop, "frontiers," sounds like cutting-edge esoterica, the real theme is the growing practice and utility of powder diffraction and related techniques in a wide variety of contexts. The organizers and speakers hope that people will come to this workshop expecting to apply powder techniques to their own scientific problems. In addition, there will be numerous posters on new results, a discussion of the new NSLS in-situ powder beamline at X6B, and computers set up with demonstrations of software. Participants who wish to bring a sample for measurement and (public or private) discussion are urged to contact Peter Stephens in advance (pstephens@sunysb.edu).
