On behalf of the User’s Executive Committees of the National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS) and the Center for Functional Materials (CFN) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), I would like to invite your organization to assist in sponsoring the 2007 User meeting on May 21-23.

The Users’ Meeting brings together national and international scientists and engineers of many diverse disciplines and affiliated with universities, industries, government agencies, and national labs. New research results and advances in experimental capabilities and techniques that utilize synchrotron radiation and nanoscience research are discussed through presentations, workshops, and social gatherings. The main program includes presentations by Dr. Patricia Dehmer, head of the Basic Energy Sciences at the Department of the Energy; the Brookhaven National Laboratory Director; Directors of the NSLS and CFN user facilities; and plenary scientific talks. This year will include the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony to open the fifth of the five nanoscience research centers, the Center for Functional Nanomaterials.

Based on attendance at past meetings, we expect that this year’s attendance will be at least 400 people.

As a sponsor, you will have high visibility in the meeting program, on display signs throughout the facilities, in frequent conference announcements, and on our meeting website http://www.nsls.bnl.gov/users/meeting/2007/. Most importantly, your organization will be furthering synchrotron radiation and nanoscience advancements in science and technology.
