"Synchrotron Spectroscopy Methods at High Pressure"

V. V. Struzhkin, Carnegie Institution of Washington

An overview of synchrotron spectroscopic methods will be given in application to high pressure experiments in diamond anvil cells. The phonon excitations, magnetic order, and spin properties may be conveniently probed with inelastic x-ray scattering, nuclear resonant scattering, and x-ray emission techniques. A few examples of synchrotron experiments in correlated materials and superconductors will be presented and discussed.
